ACRES OF DIAMONDS

December 5, 2012

Third video by Earl Nightingale I’d love to share with you today is; ‘Acres of Diamonds‘. Based on a true story of an African farmer who had made millions by discovering diamond mines.

One thing to remember, Each of us is at this moment standing in the midst of his or her own acres of diamonds. Explore the pasture you are in. Don’t run from one thing to another forever looking for the pot of gold. Stay where you are until you find what you seek. Let your mind thoroughly explore the possibilities in what you are presently doing.’

Next video by ‘Earl Nightingale‘ that I’d love to share with you today is named; ‘Self Knowledge’

Remember this comment by ‘Dean Briggs’, when days come and you find yourself depressed or confused;

“Do your work, not just your work and no more but a little more for the lavishing sake, that little more that is worth all the rest, and if you suffer as you must and if you doubt as you must, do your work, put your heart into it and then out of your very doubt and suffering will be born the supreme joy of life.”

Be True to yourself! and Remember this from yesterday, ‘Our attitude towards others determines their attitude towards us.’ 🙂

FITNESS AND EXERCISE

November 18, 2012

A follow up to last weeks topic ‘Simple Weight Loss Foods

Along with healthy eating comes fitness and exercise. It can reduce your risk of major illnesses, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes and cancer by up to 50% and lower your risk of early death by up to 30%.

It’s free, easy to take, has an immediate effect and you don’t need a GP to get some.

Article today is based on another e-book sold at the Books and Traders website www.booksandtraders.com. This book contains seven chapters going in depth about fitness, health and exercise.  Here is a breakdown of the contents page.

  • Introduction
  • Chapter 1: Knowing about Fitness, Health and Exercise (2 pages)
  • Chapter 2: The Basic requirements (10 pages)
  • Chapter 3; Essentials and Advices (13 pages)
  • Chapter 4; Types of Aerobics (9 pages)
  • Chapter 5; Strength and Building Plans (27 pages)
  • Chapter 6; Live Longer and Stay Healthy While Feeling younger (15 pages)
  • Chapter 7; Promoting Health (12 pages)
  • Conclusion

As it has many pages, I’ll give a summary of only the first two chapters, each chapter has quite a lot of information that is useful.

The fact these days is that only a few actually adhere to a healthy lifestyle. The majority of people still eat junk and will still fill their plates with fats and carbohydrates. Most would rather sit on the couch and watch TV than work out at the gym or do some jogging. Old habits after all, die hard. But starting a healthy lifestyle is not really as impossible as you think it is. In fact, with commitment and discipline, you can actually start walking the road to health and fitness.  Truth is, it will be hard but just imagine the rewards that you will get in return.

People who live healthy will get to enjoy more of their lives, not only in terms of reaching a good old age of 90+ years old but in enjoying each moment of your life because you are illness-free.

Knowing about Fitness, Health and Exercise

Diet alone is never enough to lose weight and keep it off. In fact it is never enough to live healthier. Moderate exercises on a timely schedule are imperative for staying fit and healthy, while including a diet with low cholesterol and fat. In fact, there’s a misunderstanding about body fat and cholesterol. Likewise, carbohydrates and calories are also misunderstood.

Body fats are a requirement of the body. Fat is necessary for the body to function appropriately. Fat controls the body’s temperature, while cushioning and insulating the tissues and organs. In fact, fat is the main supporting system for the body to work properly. This is part of the reason that few people exercising and dieting do not grow healthy at times. They plan a diet that cuts out all the fat, cholesterol, carbohydrates, and/or other nutrients the body requires. Therefore when making a goal toward fitness and health, by including diet and exercise first of all find out a few details pertaining to fats, cholesterol, carbohydrates and calories.

Exercise is always important, but to keep lean and feel good, there are important facts that you should know about exercising as well. If you are out of shape, you may want to start out a low moderate exercise routine that lasts for 10 minutes per session to give your body the opportunity to catch up.

Example; You can do 10-minute sessions 3 times per day to get the best results, until you gradually work your way up to 30-minute sessions. One hour is the general rule to quality exercise that creates a lean body.

Some great aerobic exercises to start are:

  • Steps ups,
  • Sit-ups,
  • Stretching,
  • Flex exercises
  • Dance aerobics.

One of the best routines I’ve found that keeps the body healthy, tone, lean, and feeling good is the series of exercises listed below:

In the e-book, it gives a set of exercises that you can follow at the start of getting a lean, tone body.

The Basic Requirements

Exercise is essential for promoting healthy bones, muscles, reducing health risks, and enforcing the body to function properly.

Exercise and eating right has proven to be two primary sources for a healthier mind and body. If you sleep a lot, your muscles and bones are affected in a negative way. The more you lie around or sit around the house, the more your bones and muscles will deteriorate. Bones and muscle deterioration will soon leads to more complicated health issues. So therefore, whether you sleep too much or do not get enough sleep, part of the solution is to eat healthy, and work those muscles and bones on a daily schedule.

Today, there are hundreds of types of exercises and diets to select from, yet all have their own idea of what the body requires. For example, Carbohydrate pushers lead you to believe that adhering to a CARB diet will give you better results than sticking to other types of diets. Few of these sources fail to tell you that exercise is a requirement of the body. CARB diets are illogical, since the body also requires proteins, fats, carbohydrates, calories, cholesterol, and so on.

If the body is not getting what it requires, regardless of the type of diet you choose, the body will let you down. CARB diets tend to cause a person gain weight as they grow older. Therefore, CARB diets are only an idea that makes money for someone else.

All of us have a different shape of body. The type of exercise then depends on the body type, since some body’s work best with mass exercises, while others work best with toning exercises.

Aerobics and weight lifting is one of the better choices of exercises. Combining the two makes it a cross training scheme that is said to work better than merely lifting weights or else participating in aerobics.

Again, the body has more requirements than merely exercising and dieting. Rather, the requirements include knowing what is right for your type of body. If you start an exercise routine and experience on-going pain, likely the exercise procedure is not right for your type of body.

The body requires the amount of meals per day depending on the body type. Many people believe that if they skip meals it is a way to lose weight. If your body does not know which direction to go, you could gain weight even if you are eating properly. Chiropractors have found that eating three healthy and moderate meals a day can help people lose weight. In fact, the body requires a scheduled meal plan. Like people, when a plan changes it brings on problems, or stressors, likewise at what time you change the bodies eating schedule, it too gives us problems.

It is important that you visit your doctor before starting any diet solution, or exercise to make sure that you are on the right path to fitness. Medical practitioners have often provided helpful tips, which could lead you toward fitness at a healthy pace, while building mass. Your general practitioner may advise you on which vitamins that your specific body lacks. Thus, including vitamins is essential when considering fitness.’

Maintaining fitness is imperative to take care of the body. Since if the body is not keeping fit, illnesses can breakdown the body or terminate the life. Aging is one of the problems reports are putting emphasis on, since if the body is not receiving its proper amount of nutrients and exercise the body breaks down earlier in life, thus aging processes start sooner.

Then what is your choice? You have the option to start training now and setting up a diet that works with your body to reduce suffering.

The body is a tricky temple. However, it does let you know when something is wrong or if it requires something to make it function well. The only choice then you have is to find a solution that is right for your body that will help you maintain fitness.

In conclusion, live and stay strong by listening to your body’s demands now before it is too late.

SIMPLE WEIGHT LOSS FOODS

November 11, 2012

This article is based on the e-book ‘Simple weight loss recipes, which is sold over at the Books and Traders website. In this book there are six chapters, and in each chapter it shows how you can turn a simple healthy ingredient to a tasteful, delicious meal. I would like to share with you some of the contents from the first three chapters.
The perception that thin people are healthy people could not be further from the truth as east is from the west, though in contrast the thought that obese or overweight people are unhealthy is most likely true. Although I am not saying it is, some obesity is due to genetics, but don’t use this as an excuse as to why you might be over your ideal weight and can’t lose the last few pounds.
In order to be healthy and stay healthy one should really concentrate on the nutritional value of the foods being consumed rather than the amounts.
CHAPTER 1:- Healthy Meal Basics
Consuming small amount of food is best but only if these amounts consist of nutritionally balanced and healthy elements. After gaining the understanding of the various nutritional basics of each food groups, the next step would be to make the changes needed.
Healthy tip; Making the changes needed gradually would reap better and more positive results as opposed to drastically making the change which the body may accept for a short period of time but will reject in the long run.Learning to eat in smaller portions also helps the individual start the journey towards healthy eating. For some cutting out certain foods may be such a difficult effort that the next best solution would be to try and cut down the portions. Also developing the habit of avoiding heavier meals towards the end of a day is also wise.

CHAPTER 2:- How Black Beans help…

Black Beans originate from Mexico and very much a part of the South American diet, these black beans have been proven to be quite a nourishing packed food group indeed.

Today it is popularly found in most restaurants and homes in various forms such as salads, staples and other delicious dishes.

The black beans consists of high protein and fibre contents and is considered very nourishing as both these essential elements are present within one food item.

Fibre and proteins are very important to the function of the body. Without protein, how would you build muscle and without fibre, well in short terms it would be difficult to use the toilet. Increase the fibre and protein content you consume and you increase your chances of a healthy lifestyle, but always remember your portions. Besides this black beans also have flavonoid anti-oxidants. These assist the body avoid oxygen related damage. Black beans also consists of omega 3 fatty acids and has a high nutritional value.

CHAPTER 3:- How Oats help…

Oats is a very simple ingredient with far reaching positive effects and benefits.

Oats within a diet plan provides a wide range of important health benefits which cannot be duplicated by any other food item singularly. Being a significant dietary fibre source, oats consists of soluble and half soluble fibres which help to keep blood cholesterol levels effectively under control.

Some of the areas where oats has been known to be beneficial are in improving heart conditions, regulating blood sugar levels, functioning as anti-cancer fighters, keeping blood pressure under control, maintaining regular and healthy bowel functions, helping in weight control, boosting athletic performances, and in general health and longevity.

Oats is also a food item that is rather hardy and can be grown in poor soil conditions which is of course another plus in terms of its availability. The various processes that the oat has to be subjected to before it reaches the dining table does not cause its nutritional value to decrease rather it is able to maintain its concentrated fibre and nutrient base.

Oats can be a great day starter in the form of a piping bowl of oatmeal which can be more flavourful with the addition of fresh fruits, nuts or the dried fruits variety. It can also be used to make oat meal cookies which are usually a huge hit with kids and adults alike. Breads and muffins can also have the addition of healthy oats to it as with poultry stuffing too.

WRAPPING UP

For most people losing weight is an uphill battle and one that is often lost to tears and frustration. It is very difficult to stop eating and drinking certain things that brings pleasure to the individual, thus even trying to do so, causes stress and often failure to stick to the resolution for longer durations. Therefore exploring foods that are better and healthier would perhaps be a better alternative as compared to trying to go on a diet to lose weight.

There are a lot of good and delicious foods that are not only good for the body but it also has the added advantage of causing the body to shed off excess pounds.

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

November 4, 2012

Book Review: ‘You’re better than you Thinkby Dora Albert

This book is divided into three parts, ‘Why you’re better than you think’ ‘How you’re better than you think’ and ‘What to do about it’

We have over 100 billion brain cells, looking under a microscope they would look like stars. Your brain is the finest precision machine in existence. It is capable of several trillion associations of thought. Yet even the most able scientists cannot analyse adequately the amazing way in which thought is initiated and processed.

Earlier this year a friend commented “You can’t be anything you want. You’re only capable of certain things” I assume each one of us have come across this type of individual at one point of our lives, those who are ready to discourage you when you’re looking for encouragement. It’s our choice to determine if that’s true or not.

Each chapter in this book shows how with the ‘three golden keys’ thinking, writing and action can be used in applying the guidance which covers self-analysis that will lead to belief in self, the qualities and abilities which are part of health, intelligence, aptitudes, luck, appeal and being lovable, and the use of goals, leadership, the conquest of fears, and worries, for the end result of living fully.

My favourite part of this book is Part 3, Chapter 17 ‘How to develop the greatness within you’

The Inferiority complex leads to self-concepts that may be flagrantly wrong. But as long as you believe in them, you will be influenced by them. Therefore it is important for you to discover and keep telling yourself that you are much better, more able, healthier and luckier individual than you ever dreamed you could be.

As soon as you accept this as a fact, it will begin to influence your life.

William B Given, Jr. President of the American Brake shoe company once said that “our inherent abilities are much greater than those we actually use. No one ever gave his best”

Henry Ford once said, “Everyone can do more than he thinks he can.”

Coming back to the comment a friend once said to me, I resent that comment, do you want to know why?… It’s because I believe; I’ve always believed I can do anything I put my mind to. I am only capable of what I limit myself to. This is what you should believe as well. If you don’t believe this, then how do you expect yourself to climb that mountain, jump off and fly? If you go over and beyond, go past the impossibilities to the human eye you can achieve greater and unimaginable things.

No matter what your abilities were originally, they can be developed, only if you choose to develop them.

I’ll finish with this, also in Chapter 17, the last chapter of this book ‘You’re better than you Think it concludes with ways in which each of us can change him/herself for the better. I’ll share them with you;

Firstly, Accept yourself

2. Believe in yourself

3. Think of how to make others happy

4. Keep your hands and your mind occupied most of the time

5. Be good to yourself

6. Try to make others feel comfortable and at ease

7. Decide which worries can be cured

8. Love yourself, and learn to love as many persons as you can besides yourself

9. Believe in some Power higher and greater than yourself

And Lastly, Forget the past.
